Hello Everyone and welcome to the 2026 CSA season! I know you have all been waiting for this first share and its set to be a good one with a lot of fresh spring greens! Ive been working on them a while and working hard on the preparation of planning a planting schedule. We had a really cool March and April so I’m expecting things to be a little later than last year but we are starting the season early anyways with crops out of the greenhouses!
Market share members you can start coming to market now that they have started anytime you like to spend your share money at one of our farm stands anytime!
There are two most important things for all regular (non market share) members to know to make sure your csa pick up goes smoothly for us all. First of all you must know what share size you have to pick up correctly. That means you are either large or small box. The large box is for standard and bi-weekly members, the small box is basic share members only. Please make sure you take the right size box when you pick up. Secondly you must bring a carryout bag to the pick up site and do not take the box your share is in. Unpack the veggies into your carryout and leave the container behind so we can bring them back for reuse. Thats pretty much it for details to remember so besides that enjoy these crops coming your way for week #1!
Our crops are looking good for the first half of the year. So far we have some great greens for you early in the season with lots of different flavors. Here is the list for week #1.
-Spinach: The flavor is rich on this variety with tender but thick leaves. We will be giving out good size portions of this sweet awesome vitamin packed goodness. We’ve been eating it cooked in eggs for quiche at home.
-Gem Lettuce: Our gem lettuce is tastier then normal lettuce great outer leaves for sandwiches and nice crunch for salad also these mini heads are cute but tasty. I use them divided the long way as a loaf also for wedge salads. Some chefs even grill this lettuce and char it a bit.
-Radishes: Our red radishes are great with butter, perhaps an herbed or flavored butter or goat cheese and some crusty bread, use them on salads, or just enjoy them as a snack.
-edible flowers This is the first time we’ve had these for shares ever. These beautiful edible petals can be eaten on anything really great in salads or top your favorite dish, dessert, or cocktail/mocktail with the blossoms.
-Pea shoots: These sweet and mild micro greens are great for salads, stir fry, pasta, avocado toast, on sandwiches, wraps, tacos, or anywhere you would use lettuce but much richer nutrient content
-Crisp Lettuce This lettuce is crispy and crunchy with good texture and loft for fluffy salads, its a new lettuce for me this year and we will try ty keep it around all season if possible
-Micro Radish, these will be added to large shares only this week.
Thank you all for choosing my farm as your CSA Farm. I’ve been farming organically for 20 years now since 2006 and have been raising veggies and family here and slowly growing the business as much as possible every year. I love growing good food for you all. I know my family at home always feels better when we eat lots of fresh veggies and sharing that with all your families means a lot to me. Thanks for supporting a small organic farm it means a lot to us here at the farm!
