Week sixteen has arrived! This week, I have been picking up micro soil, starting micros, pulling weeds, and continuing the work of harvesting, and distributing all the fresh organic veggies we can! We have some more high quality crop variety for you this week as we near the end of summer and the CSA season for some much needed slower months ahead to continue the work but also to rest and regroup. Here is this weeks crop list.
Heirloom Tomatoes: the pinnacle of farming these are so good for sandwiches, caprese salad, burrata, pizza, and so much more! I do hope you enjoy them, these take the majority of labor hours on the farm.
Cherry tomatoes- Our cherry tomatoes are still so healthy and productive, i’m very happy with the quality of fruit this year despite losing the first round of plants. Large shares get double this week.
Microgreens: Our micro green for this week is Micro Broccoli! These are packed with vitamins and with great flavor for salads, sandwiches, on top of stir fry or pasta, or even on soup.
Kale: Curly and tender enough for salads or cooked for some tasty kale chips
Eggplant: The temps will be dropping soon and with it the eggplant but we will try to get a few more week of eggplant out this summer before it ends!
Thats everything for this week! We have two weeks of the regular CSA left after this one, one including bi-weekly members which will be next week on week 17, and then one more week for full season members to finish off the summer on week 18. Until next week then folks, enjoy the summer with your loved ones and see you soon. Thank you.
