Greetings members!
Week sixteen and labor day week has arrived all ready with a heat wave! Labor day is weird concept to me as a farmer because pretty much every day is a day for labor around here but its also my sons birthday weekend so we are taking some time to celebrate Evan turning 14 on Labor Day! My kids also have their first full week of school this week as i’m sure many of you with children are experiencing also! I planted fall carrots sport jumpsuit nike nike technical cross body bag polaroid κάμερα Bonnets rugby corner scarpe eleganti senza lacci köröm díszítő szalagok astro a50 ps4 and pc polaroid κάμερα custom baseball uniforms astro a50 ps4 and pc Bonnets rugby corner cheap jordan 4 corsair ddr3 1600 comprar fatos de treino adidas baratos carhartt ukand radishes this week but they won’t be ready until late in the year if they make it at all. I want to plant some spinach also but need the heat to die down first. We have some more great crop variety for you this week. Here is this weeks crop list.
Garlic- Our garlic is well cured and dry so you can store it at room temp. do not refrigerate garlic or get it wet so a room temp dry place out of direct sunlight is best. Its a little smaller than usual this year due to drought early in the year so its also starting later but its been a challenging year to grow with very little rain so I hope you enjoy what we have coming for ya.
Sweet pepper will be in the shares this week and go great with some of your favorite protein for tacos or stuffed peppers.
Curly Kale: Our kale is still rocking and makes a good salad or saute green! I think we will go with red kale this week unless we run out and then we will go with green.
Cherry tomatoes- Our cherry tomatoes are still so healthy and productive so more large portions of these are coming this week
Heirloom Tomato – These are slowing down a lot but we should have a few for everyone yet this week!
Yellow Carrots: It’s been a good carrot year for us and these yellow carrots are a new variety for me but they sure have sized up well so I think we will be growing them again next season.
Long of Tropea red onion: These are often mistaken for shallots at market but they are indeed a red onion that hails from the Mediterranean originally. with thin rings they cook down fast and caramelize well and also are very good raw.
Jalapeno pepper: A little spice for your life, i’m sure you all know jalapeños well… some don’t like them but these should not be too hot just be careful when handling them as the oils can get on your hands and such.
Thats everything we can do this week! We have two weeks of the regular CSA left after this one, one week for bi-weekly members which will be next week on week 17, and then one more week for full season members to finish off the summer on week 18. Market members can continue to spend any remaining balances at all our market locations through October and mid-november downtown. I’ll be doing indoor market again this winter also trying to go year round and planting more until fall here at the farm to prepare. Until next week then folks, have a great holiday weekend and see you soon.
