What’s in the Box: Watermelon, heirloom slicing tomato, cherry tomato mix (orange,red,yellow,white, black), red cabbage, garlic, summer squash, red torpedo onion, eggplant, sweet banana pepper (long yellow), hot wax pepper (Shorter yellow), cantaloupe(bi-weekly only), leeks, flat italian parsley, and cucumber.
What’s going on at the farm: Harvest, harvest, harvest. Peak season is here! Watermelon, leeks, cantaloupe, tomatoes and more! Cherry tomatoes are pouring in and need picking nearly every day. We pulled all our fall onions and shallots and spent a good amount of hours clipping tops off the shallots and yellow onions. Red peppers should be coming in very soon. They are slow to ripen in cool weather but with some warmer weather finally coming our way this week they should be ready next week. Harvest included a very nice crop of red cabbage this week as well, and we are still mowing and controlling weeds around the fields as well to prevent seeding and future difficulties with weeds. Our annual farm potluck dinner will be coming up the last weekend of August on Saturday the 31st. Emails with details yet to come, so watch for an e-mail coming your way. Enjoy the harvest everyone!
