We are all the way to week seventeen this week! This is the last week for bi-weekly members! Full season Basic and Standard Members will have one more week of shares, and market CSA members will be able to use their balance up until the last market we attend which is different for each market. E Side Market will go until the end of October but I may take a week off before then depending on the weather, while Dane County goes outdoors until November 13th before moving indoors at Monona Terrace for the holiday markets and Garver for late winter market after the new year. I really hope everyone enjoyed the season and all the veggies! It was probably my most challenging year physically so I’m very proud of the work I did to provide every week and i have to say i worked on it every day all year for you guys! Big thanks to Connor also for being my helper! Thank you to all the bi-weekly share members for being a part of the farm this year and I hope to see you back again next year! Members will be able to sign up for the next season anytime after I update the site and this season ends which will be very soon but most people sign up between November and April although I always encourage early sign ups as it helps us prepare and get started again. I will be in touch by email to let everyone know when the site is ready to take sign ups for next season after we get cleaned up and healed up, rested a little. We’ve got some good food for you for the week including late summer sweet peppers so here is this weeks crop list.
Cherry tomatoes: The cherry tomatoes are slowing down now but coming in yet so enjoy them while the warm weather is still here!
Garlic: It was not one of our best garlic year for sure but we will have some for you this week just smaller bulbs this week.
Yellow Carrots: This crop has been our best carrot cop ever even though they are hard to grow we harvested over 2 thousand lbs of carrots this year!
Sweet Peppers: These have been producing well and we have at least this week for red pepper and hopefully through the last week for full season member as well.
Microgreens: Micro radishes will be our micro this week and probably the last time for them this year. Spicy and crisp they can be used for salads, sandwiches, top off soups, tacos, on top of smashed avocado toast and more.
Collard Greens: One last bunch of collards for the year we will likely have kale for the last week next week! These greens should be finely chopped and slow cooked for best results for soup or a side dish.
Serrano and cayenne Chile Pepper: Some fresh green and red chilies to spice up your cooking or salsa the cayenne is new this week!
Thank you again to all bi-weekly CSA Members. I hope you enjoyed the season and the crops and have had many healthy meals at home with your families! Full season members i’ll see you this week and next! Its been a good season overall thank you all for being part of it!
