Hello Members!
Week eleven is here and we are in and It looks like a very hot and humid week to end July as we head into Mid July so surely we will pace ourselves through all these 90 degree days and keep the water flowing to help the sweet and hot peppers, come along faster. Here is the crop list for this week.
Beets: This could be our last week of beets but well see how harvest goes. The type of beets you receive this week will either be red or chioggia depending how many are left in the field we will be trying to get the rest of this batch out and plow the weeds in this week for fall plantings.Microgreens: We have Spicy Micro Mix for you all this week, its a best selling micro for us, i’v produced thousands of trays of these and they are now a specialty as you can see, but we are switching it up this week to a different Micro Green type for you in this fantastic micro year.
Kale: Curly Kale, I always say what don’t kale ya makes you stronger so enjoy this protein packed green sautéed with some garlic and maybe in your salad torn up or baked for kale chips.
Celery: our celery this week is the first of the year and our outdoor crop! Its a crop i get a lot of requests for so I hope you all enjoy it, it is stronger flavored and greener than store celery but thats a good thing!
Green Kohlrabi: The last of the kohlrabi for spring this week is the green type one last time for ya all and we will be out until i can grow more!
That all our crops for this week folks. I hope everyone is enjoying the outdoors and time with family as much as possible this summer. I’m hoping to have enough time to plow some more open ground this week because we’ve been working hard to clean up the fields from the first half of the season and plant for fall and winter! I’ll likely plant some more salad greens for summer and fall like mustard greens, lettuce, and spinach but we really need the weather to cool down before those can grow well. Until then I can barely keep up with the heat so we’ll keep up with that and the weeds as much as we can out here in the mud and humidity and have this fresh vegg ready for y’all this wonderful week 11. -Kyle
