Arugula is an aromatic salad green in the mustard family.  It is also known as rocket, roquette, rugula, or rucola and is popular in Italian cuisine. Usually “rocket” is the term used for wild arugula.  Arugula is a spicy leafed green which some describe as bitter, or being peppery, or a radish-like green. Arugula is also good sauteed in olive oil or served wilted or mixed with other greens such as lettuce in salads.  Like most salad greens, arugula is very low in calories and high in vitamins A and C.
